Mexican Petunia
This is a picture of one of the Mexican Petunias I have growing in the yard - mine are mostly in the shade with a few bright spots during the day (like in the evening). I got two of these plants from Bob at DracoGardens 4 years ago or so and they have spread and done well for me - well enough that I give them to other coworkers looking for something that will fill in a large area relatively quickly. I don't think I've ever watered these plants ever but seeing as how they've spread with little love from me, it does indicate just how hardy they can be.

I've used Mexican petunia to fill in the empty spaces in my garden over the years. I friend gave them to me long ago, and they've spread all over by accident and design. It's a good thing I like them, because they are here to stay.
The two or three you gave me have spread to at least a dozen. They are in the native strip with hardly any supplemental water, morning/mid-afternoon sun and late afternoon shade. They haven't started blooming yet, but usually bloom all summer. I do try to weed around them since they don't shade out weeds very well. I love them!!!
