American Goldfinch

Haven't seen as many of these guys around as I did last year.  I'm not really sure if it's because I haven't been paying attention or if it's because I have a crapload of white wing doves or if the starlings and sparrows are just bullying them out of the way.  Heck, it could even just be that it was warm enough that they're not hanging around in my part of town.  I'm just amazed that I managed to get this good of a photo of the bird in the tree.

That is a wonderful bird photo and I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one to get comment spam.

Yeah - and it's getting worse...much worse...It's already annoying enough to have to do the captchas, and yet I'm still going in and deleting spam.

I love the goldfinches but they forsake my garden in the winter for those which have a bird feeder. They will be back in the summer when there are seeds to eat-I hope.

I like the detail of his wittle birdie feet in the picture. It is fascinating how they balance on a small limb effortlessly.
