December Wide Angles

As per usual - I took the photos, I just didn't post them in a timely manner.  Thanks to Heather at Xericstyle for hosting the monthly wide-angle post.

The front yard:
Featuring all the leaves.  And Princess, the neighbor's cat.

The Hell Strip:

The Rose Bed:

Closer view of the front:

Seriously - this area needs help.  It gets too much shade for the sun-loving plants (artemisia, pale pavonia, and butterfly iris)

Hi Katina -

I hope you're having a great holiday season!

As a fellow plant and garden lover, I wanted to let you know about my vision for a new garden boutique and community space in Austin. We're in the middle of a Kickstarter campaign right now to help clear the final hurdle to bring it to life. It would allow us to expand our plant and gardening DIY workshops, but that's only the beginning. (And the plant reward options are pretty sweet in my, admittedly biased, opinion.)

I would be thrilled if you wrote about the project on your blog and shared it with your friends, family, and social network. It seems right up you and your audience's alley! You can watch our video and learn more about it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/art-is-alive/art-is-alive-with-articulture-designs

If you're not familiar with Kickstarter, it's a "crowd funding" platform for artists and entrepreneurs (without bottomless corporate pockets) to get their projects and dreams off the ground. The community can get involved, and for their support they get a great reward. We have 12 plantastic rewards people can choose from.

We're off to a great start. But one scary part is it's short, and it's "all or nothing." If we don't reach our goal in time, we get none of the existing pledges we've received.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or if I can provide images, an interview....whatever you need. You do great work and I'd be thrilled to have you jump on board our plant journey.

Thanks,
Monique

P.S. I know the holiday season is hectic. Hopefully this helps with an idea for a post. Our project ends January 14th.
