Gardening in Austin: November 2007

The watermelon has FINALLY decided to bear some fruit. Too bad this 'fruit' is currently the size of an olive. Sigh...It's like my yard is out to get me or something...

Welcome

I got frustrated trying to find guides on what to grow in Austin after having grown up in Parker, Colorado, so I decided to start a blog about my trials and tribulations in both veggie gardening (which I used to be pretty good at) and regular landscaping (which, admittedly, I didn't have any experience in). My first attempts were abysmal and I still routinely kill more plants than I can keep alive. But I'm getting better.

Proudest Veggie moment of 2012: Actually growing and harvesting Naga Jolokia and Habanero Peppers (albeit from transplants)

Proudest Landscaping moment of 2012: Coming up with a back yard landscape plan. It may take me 5 years, but at least I have a destination.
